Overview
The Flying Electron Analog to Digital Adapter Board is designed to allow easy connection of external sensors to the ADC converter of a microcontroller by incorporating all of the external hardware needed for most sensors to operate.
Example of Use for Thermistor at 25˚C (77˚F)
Step 1 - Remove all connections from ADC Sensor Terminal Block.
Step 2 - Mount Red ADC Resistor Divider Enable Jumper if not mounted.
Step 3 - Adjust ADC Resistor Divider Potentiometer so that resistance across ADC Calibration Points matches resistance of Thermistor at 25˚C (77˚F).
Step 4 - Connect thermistor to ADC Sensor Terminal Block.
Step 5 - Connect ADC Header to ADC pins of microcontroller.
Step 6 - Run microcontroller program to read ADC pins.
Example of Use for Variable Voltage Sensor
Step 1 - Remove Red ADC Resistor Divider Enable Jumper if mounted.
Step 2 - Connect FE_ADC GND and Variable Voltage Sensor's GND together.
Step 3 - Connect Variable Voltage Sensor's signal wire to ADC of ADC Sensor Terminal Block.
Step 4 - Connect ADC Header to ADC pins of microcontroller.
Step 5 - Run microcontroller program to read ADC pins.
Features
2 ADC Channels
Each ADC channel can be independently calibrated for different resistor divider settings.
Easy Resistor Divider Calibration
Large calibration pads on the PCB for easy measuring of resistor divider settings with a multimeter.
Accurate Resistor Divider Adjustments
15 turn 25k ohm potentiometer makes accurate and precise adjustment of resistor divider value possible.
Terminal Blocks for Easy Hookup
Easily connect and disconnect discreet wire sensors using the terminal block screws.
Dimensions
• 2" x 1.25"
• 2 mounting holes spaced 1.75" on center for easy mounting to a chassis
